Mogadishu – The Federal Government of Somalia, through the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation, Ali Yusuf Hoosh, has announced plans to convene a National Conference aimed at finalizing the formation of the SSC-Khaatumo Administration.
In an official statement, Minister Hoosh confirmed that the conference is scheduled for July 10, 2025. The gathering forms part of the government’s broader efforts to advance federalism and establish inclusive regional governance structures across the country.
The Ministry indicated that a technical committee will be appointed to oversee the preparations, organization, and smooth conduct of the conference. Authorities have urged all stakeholders to actively participate, underscoring the importance of ensuring a representative and inclusive administration for SSC-Khaatumo.
This initiative follows recommendations from the National Consultative Council meeting held on May 6–7, 2025, as well as a communiqué issued after the Federal Government’s high-level visit to Lasanood on April 15, 2025. Both engagements highlighted the critical need to complete the establishment of the SSC-Khaatumo Administration without further delay.
Meanwhile, momentum is building in Lasanood ahead of the conference, with several presidential hopefuls declaring their candidacy and arriving in the city to launch their campaigns.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the creation of a strong, stable administration that genuinely represents the aspirations of the region’s people.
