The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, Hon. Abdisalan Abdi Ali, is leading a high-level delegation on an official working visit to Tanzania, aimed at deepening diplomatic relations and expanding cooperation between the two nations.
The delegation includes the Minister of Livestock, Forestry and Range, Hon. Hassan Hussein Mohamed (Eelay), along with senior government officials.
Upon arrival, the Somali delegation was warmly welcomed by senior officials from the Tanzanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ambassador of Somalia to Tanzania, Hon. Ilyas Ali Hassan.
The visit marks a significant milestone: the formal reopening of the Somali Embassy in Dar es Salaam following its comprehensive renovation and modernization. This development is seen as a vital step in enhancing Somalia’s diplomatic presence in the region.
In addition, the Somali officials will take part in commemorations of Tanzania’s 65th Independence Day, underscoring the enduring friendship between the two countries.
During the visit, both sides will engage in bilateral discussions focused on strengthening diplomatic ties, boosting trade and cooperation, and facilitating the free movement of citizens between Somalia and Tanzania.
This visit reflects Somalia’s continued commitment to fostering regional partnerships and contributing to stability and prosperity across East Africa.
