CAIRO — Egypt’s Foreign Minister has stressed that no country has the right to impose its will or vision on the Middle East region, calling for respect for national sovereignty, international law, and a balanced approach to regional relations.
Speaking on regional developments, the minister emphasized that lasting stability cannot be achieved through dominance or unilateral actions, but through dialogue, cooperation, and respect for the interests of all countries. He warned that attempts by any state to control regional affairs could increase tensions and undermine security.
Egypt has long advocated for a regional order based on cooperation among Arab and neighboring countries, with Cairo repeatedly highlighting the importance of preserving the independence and territorial integrity of states.
The foreign minister’s remarks come amid growing geopolitical tensions across the Middle East, including conflicts in Gaza, Sudan, Libya, and wider disputes involving regional powers. Egypt has sought to play a diplomatic role in addressing several of these crises while calling for political solutions and humanitarian protection.
The minister also stressed that regional security should be built on collective efforts rather than competition between major powers. He said countries of the region should have the ability to determine their own futures without external pressure or interference.
Egypt, which maintains one of the region’s largest diplomatic and military roles, has frequently called for strengthening Arab coordination and developing mechanisms to address shared security challenges, including terrorism, instability, economic pressures, and conflicts.
The comments reflect Cairo’s broader foreign policy position that regional stability depends on maintaining a balance of power, respecting international agreements, and preventing the escalation of conflicts.
Egyptian officials have repeatedly said that cooperation between regional states is essential to addressing common challenges and ensuring peace and security across the Middle East. The latest remarks reinforce Cairo’s position as a key diplomatic player seeking greater regional stability amid ongoing crises.
