DOHA — Qatar has strongly rejected what it called “false and misleading reports” from Israel claiming that Doha had agreed to participate in military operations against Iran, saying such allegations are intended to create tensions and pull Qatar into a broader regional confrontation.
The Qatari government said it has consistently maintained a clear position that it does not participate in military actions against neighboring countries and will not allow its territory or policies to be used to fuel regional conflicts.
Officials in Doha emphasized that Qatar’s approach is based on diplomacy, dialogue and respect for international law, adding that the country remains committed to promoting stability in the Gulf and the wider Middle East.
Qatar said the accusations against it could undermine diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and preventing further escalation at a time when the region is facing growing security challenges.
The statement comes amid increased military and political tensions involving Iran and its regional rivals, raising concerns among Gulf countries about the possibility of a wider conflict.
Qatar, which maintains relations with multiple regional and international actors, has frequently positioned itself as a mediator in Middle Eastern disputes. The country has previously played roles in facilitating negotiations and communication channels during major regional crises.
The Qatari authorities reiterated that they support peaceful solutions and cooperation among neighboring states, rejecting any attempt to portray the country as a participant in military campaigns against Iran or any other regional country.
Analysts say the dispute highlights the delicate position of Gulf states, which seek to maintain security partnerships with global powers while avoiding direct involvement in escalating regional conflicts. Qatar’s leadership has repeatedly called for de-escalation and diplomatic engagement as the preferred path to resolving disputes.
