CAIRO — Somalia’s Foreign Minister Abdisalam Ali held talks with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty in Cairo on Sunday, focusing on bilateral relations and regional developments in the Horn of Africa.
The meeting brought together senior officials from both countries to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation between Somalia and Egypt across political, diplomatic and strategic sectors.
According to Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the two ministers also exchanged views on the latest developments in the Horn of Africa and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace, stability and regional cooperation.
The talks come amid growing diplomatic engagement between countries in the region as governments seek to address shared security and economic challenges.
Somalia and Egypt have in recent years expanded cooperation on regional security, political coordination and development initiatives, with both sides emphasizing the importance of maintaining stability in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region.
