BEIJING/RAMALLAH – China has once again reaffirmed its unwavering support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, stressing its longstanding commitment to the Palestinian cause and continued humanitarian assistance.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Chinese Embassy in Ramallah, Sun Zhen, head of China’s office in Palestine, said he had met with Palestinian leaders during his visit and witnessed what he described as the “injustice” faced by the Palestinian people.
“China has consistently supported the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and firmly backs the establishment of an independent State of Palestine,” Sun said, adding that Beijing’s position remains clear and unchanged.
He noted that China will continue providing humanitarian aid and development assistance to help improve living conditions in the Palestinian territories. According to Sun, Beijing is also committed to expanding cooperation with Palestine in areas including infrastructure, economic development, education, and capacity building.
Sun emphasized that China supports efforts aimed at achieving a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace through dialogue and a negotiated two-state solution based on international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
He added that China values its longstanding friendship with the Palestinian people and intends to further strengthen bilateral ties while supporting initiatives that promote regional stability and sustainable development.
China has repeatedly called for an immediate ceasefire, increased humanitarian access, and renewed diplomatic efforts to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, maintaining that the creation of an independent Palestinian state is the only viable path toward lasting peace in the region.
