Villa Somalia Seeking Political Deal with Doolow District Commissioner

0

DOOLOW – Information obtained from informed sources indicates that Villa Somalia and Speaker of the House of the People, Cabdulqaadir Jaamac, are making political efforts to reach an agreement with Mohamed Abdi Lafey, the Commissioner of Doolow District in Jubaland State.

Sources indicate that Villa Somalia has reportedly established contact with Commissioner Lafey through the Commander of the 43rd Division, Rashid Bohol. The reported objective is to gain influence over the strategic routes in Doolow, which are said to be important for the movement of supplies and weapons used by forces loyal to Laftagareen.

The sources further claim that Commissioner Lafey has been offered substantial financial incentives and increased political authority at the regional level in exchange for supporting Villa Somalia’s political agenda.

Doolow has played a significant role in the ongoing political rivalry between the Federal Government of Somalia and the Jubaland administration. The town has previously experienced political challenges linked to these tensions, including disruptions affecting airport operations and the movement of people and vehicles.

According to informed sources, efforts to establish contact and reach a political understanding are still ongoing, although formal negotiations have reportedly not yet begun.

However, Lafey is reportedly not someone Villa Somalia can easily bring under its influence, as he is said to be familiar with the government’s political strategies and manoeuvres.

Note: The reported negotiations, financial offers and political arrangements have not been independently verified. Neither of the parties concerned has issued an official statement confirming these claims.
