JEDAH — Somalia has once again reiterated its demand for an immediate end to the ongoing war in Gaza, with Foreign Minister Abdisala Abdi Ali voicing strong condemnation of Israel’s actions against Palestinians.

Speaking at an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, the minister denounced what he described as the “massacres and suffering” inflicted on civilians in Gaza, urging an immediate ceasefire and protection of non-combatants.

He called for swift delivery of humanitarian aid to save lives in the besieged enclave and stressed the need to facilitate access for relief organizations.

Minister Abdisalam also underscored Somalia’s firm support for a two-state solution, envisioning an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He further praised international peace efforts, affirming Somalia’s commitment to safeguarding the unity and territorial integrity of OIC member states, including its own.

“Somalia fully supports the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, the protection of international law, and all peace initiatives aimed at achieving a lasting resolution,” he concluded.
