MOGADISHU – Somalia’s Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre returned to Mogadishu on Friday after completing official visits to China and Serbia, where he sought to bolster diplomatic relations and attract foreign investment.

In China, Barre participated in the 7th China-Arab States Expo, delivering a keynote speech highlighting Somalia’s investment potential. He also held high-level discussions with Chinese officials on strengthening cooperation in infrastructure, energy, and agriculture—sectors critical to Somalia’s development.

The Prime Minister then traveled to Serbia for a state visit, where he was welcomed with full honors in Belgrade. He met with Serbian Prime Minister Duro Macut at the presidential palace, with talks focused on deepening bilateral relations, trade collaboration, and diplomatic engagement.

The visits underscore Somalia’s ongoing push to diversify international partnerships and secure foreign investment as part of its broader strategy for economic recovery and long-term stability.
