BELEDWEYNE, (HAN) – Colonel Ali Ahmed Hashi, widely known as Ali Cagey, the Commander of the Somali National Army’s (SNA) 27th Division, arrived today in Beledweyne, the capital of Hiiraan region, leading a senior military delegation.

The visit focused on conducting an official inspection of the 5th Brigade’s operations and frontline positions. The brigade is central to ongoing security efforts aimed at protecting Beledweyne and its surrounding areas from persistent terrorist threats.
Upon arrival, Colonel Ali Cagey and his delegation received a warm welcome from local authorities and military leaders. In his remarks, the Commander praised the hospitality extended to his team and stressed the critical importance of unity between the national army and the people of Hiiraan in the joint struggle against extremist groups, commonly referred to as Khawaarij.
He urged residents to stand in solidarity with the army to secure lasting peace, noting that defeating terrorism requires resilience, cooperation, and national unity.
Colonel Ali’s visit underscores the Somali government’s renewed commitment to strengthening security in central Somalia. His presence in Beledweyne is expected to boost the morale of troops stationed in the region and reassure the local population of the government’s determination to restore peace and stability in Hiiraan and across the country.
