DOHA, (HAN) — Somalia’s Minister of Public Works, Dr. Elmi Mahmoud Nur, held a productive meeting with the Acting Head of the Qatar Development Fund (QDF) to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and exploring Qatar’s support for Somalia’s ongoing infrastructure and development projects.

The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between the two brotherly nations, with an emphasis on the QDF’s potential role in financing and implementing key development initiatives aimed at improving Somalia’s economic infrastructure.

Later, Minister Nur met with Syria’s Minister of Social Affairs and Local Administration to discuss strengthening bilateral collaboration, particularly in urban development and public service delivery.

The Somali minister also held talks with the Chairman of Qatar’s Real Estate Authority, where the two sides agreed to deepen strategic cooperation between their institutions to improve real estate management systems and boost investment in Somalia’s construction sector.

Minister Nur concluded his visit with an official stop at the Somali Embassy in Doha, where he was warmly received by diplomats and embassy staff. He commended the embassy’s efforts to enhance diplomatic ties and serve the interests of the Somali community in Qatar.
