NEW YORK, (HAN) — Tens of thousands of demonstrators poured into the streets of major U.S. cities on Saturday to protest against the policies of former President Donald Trump. The protests took place in New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, and several other cities across the country.

In New York City, one of the largest gatherings was held in Times Square, where thousands of people rallied shortly after sunrise. Protesters filled the streets and subway entrances, holding signs with messages such as “Democracy is not a Monarchy” and “The Constitution is not Optional.”

Organizers described the demonstrations as peaceful and aimed at defending democratic principles and constitutional rights. “Nonviolence is our core principle,” a statement from the organizing group No Kings said on its website, urging participants to remain calm even if confronted with hostility.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) estimated that more than 100,000 people joined the peaceful march in the city, with no arrests reported. Similar scenes were witnessed in other major cities, where large crowds marched through downtown streets chanting slogans and waving banners calling for accountability and respect for the rule of law.

Ahead of the protests, Trump’s allies accused the demonstrators of being linked to the left-wing Antifa movement and condemned what they described as “anti-American hate rallies.” However, organizers rejected those claims, emphasizing that the protests represented a broad coalition of Americans from different backgrounds united by concern over Trump’s political agenda.

In Washington D.C., crowds gathered near the White House and on the National Mall, where speakers denounced what they called efforts to undermine democratic institutions. In Los Angeles, marchers carried placards reading “Protect Our Democracy” and “No One Is Above the Law.”

Saturday’s coordinated demonstrations mark one of the largest nationwide mobilizations since Trump’s departure from office, reflecting ongoing political polarization and public opposition to his influence on American politics.
