CAIRO — Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Monday received Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, for talks focusing on regional security and political coordination, according to a statement released by the Egyptian presidency.
The statement said the two sides reaffirmed their joint commitment to preserving the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Somalia, Yemen, and Sudan, stressing their rejection of any attempts to destabilize or divide the three countries.
During the meeting, Egypt and Saudi Arabia emphasized the importance of strengthening Arab cooperation to address ongoing regional crises. Both countries underlined their support for political solutions aimed at restoring stability and preventing further escalation in conflict-affected states.
The talks also resulted in an agreement to enhance military, intelligence, and diplomatic cooperation, with the goal of confronting emerging security threats, particularly those linked to the situation in Gaza and the Horn of Africa. The cooperation is expected to focus on counterterrorism, regional security coordination, and diplomatic engagement.
Egypt and Saudi Arabia described their partnership as a cornerstone of regional stability, reaffirming their intention to continue close coordination on issues affecting the Middle East and Africa.
