BELEDWEYNE – Dayah Power Supply, one of the main electricity providers in Beledweyne, has extended humanitarian support by distributing food aid to displaced families on the town’s outskirts.

The assistance, which included assorted food items, reached 20 vulnerable households living in displacement camps and struggling to meet daily needs.

Company officials said the initiative reflects Dayah Power’s broader commitment to community support beyond electricity services. They emphasized that the company stands with the most vulnerable, particularly families facing urgent humanitarian challenges.

Beneficiaries welcomed the aid with gratitude. “Our children have gone hungry for days. Today we finally have food to feed them,” said one displaced mother. “We thank Dayah Power Supply for remembering the poor.”

Dayah Power is widely recognized not only for providing reliable electricity but also for creating job opportunities for local youth, contributing to economic growth and reducing unemployment in the region.

The company’s management reaffirmed its pledge to continue supporting the community, noting that businesses share responsibility in addressing the hardships facing residents of Beledweyne.

The town has endured years of recurrent flooding, conflict, and displacement, leaving thousands dependent on humanitarian assistance. While international aid remains vital, contributions from private businesses such as Dayah Power highlight the important role the local private sector can play in easing the burden on vulnerable households.
