Jalalaqsi – In a strategic move aimed at strengthening regional security, Colonel Abdirahman Rayale, the commander of AUSSOM’s 4th Sector, paid an official visit to Djiboutian troops stationed in the town of Jalalaqsi, located in the Hiran region of central Somalia.
The visit was part of an ongoing effort to assess the security situation in the area and bolster joint operations against the extremist group Al-Shabaab.
Colonel Rayale praised the Djiboutian forces for their high level of professionalism and unwavering commitment to the fight against terrorism.
During his inspection, Colonel Rayale met with local authorities, including Jalalaqsi District Commissioner Nur Absuge and the Commander of Local Security Forces, Colonel Abdinasiir Ali. Their discussions focused on enhancing collaborative security measures and reinforcing joint military operations to eliminate Al-Shabaab from the region.
In addition to the security-related engagements, Colonel Rayale visited the Jalalaqsi General Hospital to gain firsthand insight into the pressing humanitarian and health challenges facing the local population.
The visit aimed to explore potential avenues for additional support and humanitarian assistance, particularly in response to urgent medical and social needs.
The Colonel’s visit comes amid a broader coordinated effort to stabilize conflict-affected communities in central Somalia.
AUSSOM, a regional peacekeeping mission under the African Union, has reiterated its commitment to achieving sustainable peace through strong collaboration between military forces, local administrations, and civilian communities.
This mission underscores the importance of regional cooperation and continued vigilance in areas previously destabilized by militant threats.
