MOGADISHU, (HAN) – An emergency summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League opened today in Doha, bringing together leaders of the Muslim and Arab world to show firm solidarity with Qatar after the recent attack in the capital. The gathering is also expected to adopt decisive measures in response to Israel’s continued aggression.

The summit, convened at a critical moment for the region, is being hailed as a platform for strengthening unity and charting a new course of collective action. Member states are pushing not only for political support but also for long-term strategies that ensure the dignity, sovereignty, and security of the Islamic and Arab nations.
Among the proposals on the table is Egypt’s call for the formation of a unified Arab-Islamic military force capable of defending the region from external threats. Turkey and Iran have also advanced plans to finance and develop regional defense industries, aimed at building a self-reliant military system that Western powers and Israel cannot undermine.
Observers say the Doha summit carries historic significance, with the potential to transform Muslim and Arab cooperation into a decisive power bloc. Leaders stressed that only through unity, economic integration, and a strong defense posture can the Islamic world protect its people and confront the challenges imposed by foreign interference and Israeli hostilities.
