CAIRO — Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi on Tuesday held talks with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, during an official visit to Cairo, focusing on regional security, political coordination, and strengthening strategic ties between the two countries.
According to a statement from the Egyptian presidency, the meeting reviewed ways to deepen cooperation in the security, economic, and political sectors, against the backdrop of ongoing regional and international developments.
During the talks, both sides underscored dtheir shared commitment to supporting efforts aimed at preserving the sovereignty, unity, and stability of the Federal Republic of Somalia, underlining the importance of protecting the country’s territorial integrity.
Egypt and Saudi Arabia also emphasized their joint role in enhancing regional security in the Horn of Africa, highlighting the need for coordinated action to confront security threats and destabilizing factors affecting the region.
The discussions further demonstrated close alignment between Cairo and Riyadh on key regional issues. Both leaders underscored the importance of pursuing peaceful political solutions to the conflicts in Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, and the Gaza Strip, stressing that dialogue remains essential to reducing tensions and achieving lasting stability.
Egypt and Saudi Arabia described their partnership as a pillar of regional stability and reaffirmed their commitment to continued coordination on matters affecting the Middle East and Africa.
