TEHRAN — Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has firmly rejected U.S. demands aimed at curbing Tehran’s missile and nuclear capabilities.

“There will be no negotiations over our missile system. Anyone who thinks Iran’s capabilities can be diminished is dreaming… Iran does not entertain some dreams,” he said.

The statement responds to a list of U.S. conditions linked to avoiding possible military action, including: dismantling Iran’s nuclear program, halting uranium enrichment, eliminating medium- and long-range missiles, limiting missile and drone exports, and stopping support for regional allies.

The U.S. also demanded Tehran guarantee the safety of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and halt attacks on vessels by Houthi forces in the Red Sea.

Domestic governance measures were also included, with calls to end executions under political charges, release political prisoners, and ensure internet freedoms.

Analysts say Araghchi’s remarks underline Iran’s determination to maintain its strategic programs despite mounting international pressure, signaling continued tensions with Washington over security and nuclear oversight.
