Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has remained silent following former U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran.
According to The Jerusalem Post, Netanyahu convened a security cabinet meeting that lasted into the early hours of Tuesday morning. He also reportedly instructed ministers to refrain from making any public statements on the matter, keeping Israel’s official stance unclear.
Meanwhile, Iran has signaled a willingness to halt its retaliatory actions if Israel stops its military operations.
Despite the reported ceasefire, hostilities have continued. Multiple waves of missile and air strikes have been reported across Israel, with at least three people confirmed dead in the southern city of Beersheba.
The situation remains volatile, and observers are awaiting a formal statement from Netanyahu or a clear indication of Israel’s position on the proposed ceasefire.
