MOGADISHU — Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre today received the newly appointed European Union (EU) Ambassador to Somalia, Francesca Di Mauro, at his office, where they discussed strengthening ties between Somalia and the EU.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Barre congratulated the ambassador and emphasized the importance of reinforcing cooperation in areas including peace, development, and national reconstruction.

Ambassador Di Mauro expressed her gratitude to the Somali government and people for the warm welcome and highlighted her commitment to deepening collaboration across multiple sectors to advance the shared priorities of Somalia and the EU.
