LASANOD – Following recent unrest and security incidents in Lascanood, the capital of Somalia’s Northeast Administration, newly appointed President Abdikhadir Ahmed Aw-Ali, nicknamed Firdhiye, has spoken out on the situation.

The disturbances, reportedly caused by armed groups, have created widespread fear and disrupted order in the city. Authorities have detained a businessman from Djibouti, accusing him of links to forces suspected of instigating the chaos.
Addressing the local community, President Firdhiye urged residents to fully respect government authority and uphold law and order to prevent further disorder. “Without adherence to law and government systems, governance is impossible,” he said.
His statement comes shortly after the Northeast Administration officially joined Somalia’s other regional administrations, with his election receiving strong local support.
President Firdhiye emphasized his administration’s commitment to maintaining security, combating disruptive groups, and disarming the city of Lasanod and the wider region.
