MOGADISHU, (HAN) – Dr. Aadan Abdullahi, the newly elected Speaker of the Parliament of the Northeastern Somalia administration, arrived in Mogadishu on his first official visit since taking office.

The speaker received a warm reception upon landing at Aden Adde International Airport.

Dr. Aadan and his delegation were welcomed by members of both houses of the Federal Parliament, along with senior officials from the Federal Government of Somalia.

Speaking briefly at the airport, the Speaker thanked federal leaders and parliamentarians for their hospitality, emphasizing that the establishment of the Northeastern administration reflects the aspirations of local communities to engage in Somalia’s federal system.

“The new administration represents the Northeastern people’s desire to be part of a united and functioning Somali state,” Dr. Aadan said.

Observers view the visit as an important step toward strengthening ties between Mogadishu and the newly established regional administration, as Somalia works to consolidate inclusive political institutions and a federal governance framework.
