NEW YORK, (HAN) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), currently chaired by Turkey, has called on the United Nations Security Council to take decisive measures against Israel following an airstrike in Doha, Qatar.

Turkish envoy to the UN, Ahmet Yildiz, condemned the Israeli attack, describing it as a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and national security. He labeled the strike an act of terrorism aimed at destabilizing the Middle East region, urging the international community to halt such unlawful actions.
“The OIC stands united in supporting the rights and obligations of the State of Qatar to respond to any aggression or threat against its security,” Yildiz stated, reaffirming the bloc’s solidarity.
Turkey, which currently leads the OIC, issued a strong statement demanding accountability for Israel’s attacks not only against Qatar but also against Palestinians.
The Israeli airstrike, carried out on Tuesday, targeted a Hamas negotiation delegation in Doha. Among those killed were the son of senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya, three aides, and a Qatari security official, Badr al-Dosari.
The OIC’s call adds to growing international condemnation of Israel’s actions, with pressure mounting on the UN Security Council to respond.
