The vessel Oruc Reis, owned by Turkey, has successfully returned to Turkey after conducting oil exploration along the coast of Somalia. The ship and its crew safely returned to their country after completing their mission in Somalia, according to international media reports.

On June 15, officials from the Somali government bid farewell to the ship as it departed from the coast of Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu. Oruc Reis carried out surveys in three locations along the Somali coast, covering an estimated area of 4,000 square kilometers.
This exploration mission is part of an agreement between the Federal Government of Somalia and Turkey aimed at cooperation in oil extraction. The data collected during this survey is expected to be analyzed and interpreted in the coming weeks.
The official results of the survey are anticipated to be announced within the next one to two months, with high hopes that the identified sites contain substantial oil reserves. The Somali public is eagerly awaiting the discovery of oil, which could create jobs and enable the country’s resources to be used effectively.
The exploration initiative is said to reflect the growing partnership between Somalia and Turkey, aimed at boosting economic development and resource management.
The successful return of Oruc Reis is seen as a significant step forward in Somalia’s oil exploration efforts.
Many Somalis are hopeful that this endeavor will bring tangible benefits to the nation and pave the way for a prosperous future.
