MOGADISHU – Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has summoned Turkey’s Ambassador to Somalia, Alper Aktaş, along with senior officials from Favori LLC, the Turkish company managing Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport, following his recent inspection visit to the facility.

According to government sources, the Prime Minister took a keen interest in the airport’s operations after personally observing several issues during his visit. The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s Office, focused on improving service quality and accelerating modernization efforts at the country’s main international gateway.

The head of Favori Company briefed Prime Minister Hamza on their ongoing and future development plans for the airport, emphasizing their commitment to upgrading infrastructure and services to meet international aviation standards.

Company representatives noted that visible improvements would soon be made across different service areas, including passenger handling, security, and terminal facilities, to ensure that Aden Adde International Airport reflects Somalia’s growing global connectivity and development ambitions.

Prime Minister Hamza welcomed the plans and reiterated his government’s readiness to collaborate with Turkey and other partners to ensure that the airport becomes a model of modern infrastructure in the Horn of Africa.
