NEW YORK, (HAN) – Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a strong message at the United Nations General Assembly, calling for accountability under international law for those responsible for genocide.

In his address, President Erdoğan accused Israel of committing grave violations in Gaza, likening its military operations to a “modern army waging war against innocent civilians.” He underscored that international institutions, particularly the United Nations, must not remain silent in the face of what he described as crimes against humanity.
“The perpetrators of genocide must be held accountable under international law,” Erdoğan stated firmly, urging the international community to uphold justice and protect vulnerable populations from ongoing atrocities.

The Turkish leader also emphasized the importance of defending Palestinian rights and ensuring that the voices of those suffering in Gaza are heard. His speech drew attention to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region, where thousands of civilians continue to endure displacement, loss, and destruction.
Erdoğan’s remarks come amid growing international concern over the conflict, which has drawn criticism from human rights organizations and governments worldwide. By raising the issue on the UN stage, he sought to rally global support for stronger measures to end the violence and secure lasting peace for Palestine.
