Doolow – Widespread protests broke out in the town of Doolow after Ethiopian troops reportedly launched a violent raid on the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) headquarters late last night.

According to local sources, the Ethiopian forces stormed the NISA station, abducted several Somali security officers along with their commander, and then set the facility on fire. The whereabouts of the abducted personnel remain unknown as of this report.

In response, angry residents took to the streets early this morning, denouncing both the Ethiopian military presence and the local district administration. Demonstrators chanted anti-Ethiopian slogans, expressing outrage over what they described as repeated violations by foreign troops in their community.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that some Somali government soldiers stationed in Doolow were killed during the attack, while others were taken by the Ethiopian forces. The destruction of the NISA headquarters has further fueled tensions in the already volatile border town.

Community members say they are deeply alarmed by what they call “brutal and unjustified” actions by Ethiopian troops operating inside Somalia, and demand immediate accountability and a halt to foreign interference in local security matters.

This incident marks a significant escalation in tensions between Ethiopian forces and local Somali communities in the Gedo region, raising concerns about stability in the area.
