BELED-HAWO — A high-level delegation from the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), led by Director General Abdirashid Mohamud Hassan, arrived in Beled-Hawo, Gedo region, on Monday to evaluate humanitarian needs in the aftermath of recent conflict.

The delegation was formally received at the UK military camp by the district commissioner, Somali National Army officers, and other local and regional officials.

According to SoDMA, the mission seeks to assess the plight of residents displaced by recent fighting, which forced hundreds to flee their homes. Director Hassan and his team are also supervising the distribution of emergency aid to vulnerable communities.

A coordination meeting is underway with local authorities and humanitarian partners to organize relief operations and address urgent needs in conflict-affected areas.

SoDMA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting victims of the clashes and pledged to work closely with partners to deliver timely assistance and strengthen Somalia’s emergency response efforts.
