MOGADISHU, (HAN) – The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Algeria, Ambassador Yusuf Ahmed Hassan (Yusuf Jeego), held a high-level meeting with the Director General of the Algerian National Police, Mr. Ali Badawi, at the Police Headquarters in Algiers.

During the meeting, the two officials discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and partnership between Somalia and Algeria, particularly in the field of law enforcement and security.

The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration between the Somali Police Force and the Algerian National Police, with special emphasis on supporting the capacity building of the Somali Police, organizing specialized training programs, and developing skills in modern scientific and technical investigation methods.

These include fingerprint analysis, DNA testing, and advanced crime scene investigation techniques.

Both sides also agreed to work closely in the fight against terrorism, share security expertise and intelligence, and reinforce collective efforts to promote stability and public safety in both nations.

Ambassador Yusuf Jeego praised Algeria’s continued support to Somalia, highlighting the importance of deepening cooperation in security and other areas of mutual interest.

Meanwhile, the Algerian Police Chief reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the partnership, noting that security collaboration between the two brotherly nations is vital for regional peace and the protection of citizens.
