ANKARA/BAKU, (HAN) – The Somali Embassy in Ankara has announced the arrival of a new group of Somali students in Baku, Azerbaijan, after being granted full scholarships under the Azerbaijan Government Scholarship Program for International Students.

A total of 19 students have already reached Baku, with another nine expected to arrive soon, bringing the number of Somali beneficiaries this year to 28.

The students will pursue studies in key fields including petroleum sciences, engineering, medicine, and computer science, reflecting areas critical to Somalia’s future development.

The delegation was warmly received at Baku International Airport by Somali Embassy officials, including First Secretary Ibrahim Ali Abshir, along with representatives from Azerbaijani universities hosting the students.

Somalia’s Ambassador to Ankara, Fathudin Ali Ospite, extended heartfelt congratulations to the students, urging them to work hard in their studies so they can not only secure their personal futures but also contribute to the development of Somalia.
