DOHA, (HAN) – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has reaffirmed Somalia’s solidarity with Qatar and the wider Arab and Islamic world during an emergency summit in Doha, held in response to Israel’s recent attack on Qatar.

Addressing the gathering, President Mohamud described the assault as an aggression not only against Qatar but against all Arab nations, emphasizing that Somalia firmly stands with the Qatari government and people during this difficult time.

He also underlined Somalia’s historic position in supporting the Palestinian cause, strongly condemning Israel’s continued occupation and violations against the Palestinian people.

The Somali leader called for greater Arab and Islamic unity, urging joint action to ensure the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Furthermore, President Mohamud pressed for the enforcement of international law and United Nations resolutions to halt Israeli aggression and protect regional stability, stressing the urgent need for a collective response to defend the rights of Arab and Islamic nations.
