MOGADISHU, (HAN) – Somali military personnel have officially begun their adaptation training at the Anatolia Barracks under the command of the Turkish Task Force in Somalia. This follows a formal swearing-in ceremony held in Mogadishu, attended by senior military officials and government representatives.

The training program is designed to enhance the operational capabilities of the Somali National Army (SNA), focusing on modern military tactics, leadership skills, and coordination in joint operations. Turkish trainers, deployed as part of Turkey’s ongoing support to Somalia’s security sector, will oversee the instruction, providing technical expertise and mentorship.

During the swearing-in ceremony, military leaders emphasized the importance of discipline, unity, and dedication to national security, highlighting Somalia’s ongoing efforts to rebuild and strengthen its armed forces amid persistent security challenges.

The Anatolia Barracks, located in Mogadishu, has been a hub for joint Somali-Turkish military cooperation, reflecting the broader strategic partnership between Somalia and Turkey in areas of security, defense training, and institutional capacity building.

The adaptation training is expected to continue over the coming months, preparing Somali soldiers for various operational roles across the country, with a focus on counter-terrorism, rapid response, and peacekeeping missions.
