Mogadishu – (Horn Africa News) – Somalia’s federal government has announced the appointment of an eight-member committee tasked with facilitating the finalization of a regional administration for the SSC-Khatumo area. The decision was formalized in a decree issued on Saturday by the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation.
The committee will be led by Dr. Ahmednur Mohamed as chair, with Abdinassir Haji Mohamed serving as deputy chair. The other members are Ahmed Shire Ahmed, Arafat Ali Mohamed, Ahmed Yusuf Mahmoud, Rufaci Mohamed Salad, Mahmoud Said Nur, and Fadumo Abdi Ali.
According to the ministry, the committee is mandated to provide technical guidance, coordinate between federal and local institutions, contribute to the development of administrative frameworks, and submit regular progress reports. The body will remain in place until the regional administration for SSC-Khatumo is fully established.
This initiative is part of the federal government’s broader efforts to promote inclusive governance, support locally driven state-building processes, and enhance political stability through reconciliation and dialogue.
