Baidoa — Somalia’s Speaker of the House of the People, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur, widely known as Sheikh Adan Madobe, arrived in Baidoa on Saturday, leading a senior federal government delegation to the interim capital of South West State.

The high-level delegation was received at Shaati Gaduud Airport by the Acting President of South West State and Speaker of the Regional Assembly, Dr. Ali Said Fiqi. Also present to welcome the delegation were members of the regional cabinet, parliamentarians, traditional elders, and civil society representatives.

Following his arrival, a joint press conference was held at the South West State presidential palace, where Dr. Fiqi hailed the visit as a significant move toward deepening collaboration between the federal government and the South West administration.

Speaker Madobe expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and emphasized the importance of unity and dialogue. He noted that his visit will include consultations with local leaders, elders, and community representatives to discuss key issues facing the region.

The visit comes shortly after Madobe’s trip to Hudur, the capital of Bakool region, and is seen as part of broader efforts to promote stability, enhance governance, and expand public services across Somalia’s federal member states.
