Mogadishu – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has arrived in Djibouti’s capital for a high-level state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Somalia and Djibouti, according to an official statement from Villa Somalia, the presidential palace.
Upon arrival in Djibouti City today, President Hassan Sheikh was warmly received by senior officials from the Government of Djibouti, highlighting the close ties between the neighboring Horn of Africa nations.
During his stay, President Mohamud is scheduled to hold talks with Djiboutian President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, as well as other senior government officials. The discussions will focus on enhancing the historic and strategic partnership between the two countries.
Key topics on the agenda include cooperation on regional security, economic development, political coordination, and efforts to promote stability across the Horn of Africa.
Djibouti country plays a critical role in regional diplomacy and hosts various international military bases, making its collaboration vital for Somalia’s security and state-building agenda. The visit is expected to yield agreements that will deepen ties and align both nations’ efforts in addressing common challenges in the region.
