DOHA, (HAN) – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met today with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Amiri Palace in Doha.

The high-level talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Somalia and Qatar, with particular emphasis on political, economic, and security cooperation.

President Mohamud reaffirmed Somalia’s solidarity with Qatar, stressing that Somalia will never accept any action that undermines Qatar’s sovereignty, dignity, or security.
For his part, Emir Tamim thanked the Somali leader for his country’s steadfast support, highlighting the historic bonds of brotherhood and shared interests that unite the two nations.
The meeting is seen as a step toward deepening diplomatic ties, with expectations of joint development projects and enhanced collaboration on regional stability.
