WASHINGTON, D.C, (HAN) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, paid an official visit to the Embassy of Somalia in the United States as part of his ongoing working trip to the country.

During the visit, President Mohamud toured different departments within the Embassy, including sections responsible for providing consular services to Somali nationals. He received a briefing from senior diplomats and staff on the range of services offered to the Somali diaspora community in the U.S., including passport services, legal documentation, and community support programs.

The President commended the Somali diplomats and embassy staff for their dedication and professionalism in serving Somali citizens abroad. He emphasized the importance of strengthening consular services as part of Somalia’s broader diplomatic mission and reiterated his government’s commitment to protecting the rights and interests of Somalis living overseas.

The visit comes as President Mohamud continues his official engagements in the United States, which include high-level meetings with U.S. officials, international partners, and Somali diaspora representatives to discuss cooperation on security, development, and governance.
