Mogadishu – In a major step toward strengthening regional partnerships, the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, met with Ambassador Abdalla Utaibi, the Arab League’s envoy to Somalia, at his office in Mogadishu.
The high-level talks focused on enhancing cooperation between Somalia and the Arab League member states. Key areas of discussion included political engagement, economic development, and joint efforts in security.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre warmly welcomed the Ambassador and shared updates on Somalia’s recent progress. He highlighted achievements in revitalizing the economy, promoting political stability, and implementing security reforms to bring peace and strengthen the rule of law. The Prime Minister thanked the Arab League for its ongoing support and reiterated Somalia’s commitment to close collaboration with the organization and its member countries.
In response, Ambassador Abdalla Utaibi praised Somalia’s increasing leadership within the Arab League and its efforts to promote unity and cooperation in the region. He announced that a high-level delegation from the Arab League is scheduled to visit Somalia soon, aiming to launch development projects focused on infrastructure, economic growth, and building strong public institutions.
The Ambassador stressed the Arab League’s commitment to deepening diplomatic ties and supporting Somalia’s national recovery and development goals. He emphasized that Somalia’s peace and stability are of vital importance to the wider Arab region.
