Mogadishu — The Federal Minister of Internal Security of Somalia, Hon. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartaag), has urged all sides involved in today’s fighting in Abudwak district, northern Galgaduud region, to immediately cease hostilities and bloodshed.

He warned that those responsible for instigating the violence would be held accountable.

“I call upon religious leaders, community elders, and intellectuals in Abudwak to stand up for peace, engage in mediation efforts, and work to defuse the tension. Anyone found to be fueling the conflict will face justice,” Minister Fartaag declared.

The Minister further directed regional security agencies and the Galmudug administration to work closely together to restore peace and bring the renewed conflict under control. He also prayed for Allah to unite the hearts of the Somali people and bless the nation with peace and prosperity.

Abudwak has experienced recent battles between clans, resulting in casualties and displacement.
