Mogadishu — In a major boost for Somalia’s stability and progress, Somalia and Germany have reaffirmed their strong partnership through fresh commitments in security cooperation and development assistance.

During high-level discussions in Mogadishu, Somalia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Issack Mursal and German Ambassador Sebastian Groth explored new ways to deepen bilateral ties.
The meeting underscored Germany’s steadfast support for Somalia’s journey toward peace, stability, and sustainable development.
Germany reaffirmed its backing through the Security and Risk Management in Somalia programme, continuing a legacy of cooperation that stretches back to key agreements in 1979 and 2017.
“We discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation and welcomed Germany’s continued support to Somalia, particularly in the security and development sectors,” Mursal shared on X.
Germany’s ongoing assistance plays a vital role in Somalia’s post-conflict reconstruction, focusing on strengthening institutions, advancing good governance, and promoting public safety.
This renewed partnership signals hope and progress as Somalia builds a safer, more resilient future with the support of trusted international allies.
