Doha – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, held a high-level meeting on Sunday evening in Doha with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Yemen, H.E. Mustafa Ahmed Mohamed Noman. The talks took place on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Somalia.
During the meeting, Minister Abdisalam praised the strong fraternal ties between Somalia and Yemen and reaffirmed Somalia’s unwavering support for the Yemeni government. He emphasized the importance of unity, stability, and security in Yemen, and the need for ongoing efforts to restore lasting peace in the country.
For his part, Deputy Minister Noman underscored the deeply rooted bilateral relations between the two nations and expressed his commitment to enhancing cooperation across various sectors to serve the mutual interests of both countries. He reiterated Yemen’s support for Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and applauded Somalia’s ongoing efforts toward security, development, and counter-terrorism.
Both sides agreed on the need for closer coordination to confront threats to the stability and security of their respective nations.
