GOLDOGOB, (HAN) — A tragic domestic violence incident has shaken the central Somali town of Galdogob, following the killing of a well-known mother, Samsam Hashi Baasto.
According to local reports, Samsam was fatally attacked by her husband in a public area of the town after a family dispute escalated. She was a devoted mother of seven children — five boys and two girls — and was widely respected in her community for her commitment to raising her family.
Her death has left deep sorrow among her children, relatives, and the wider Galdogob community, who described her as a selfless and caring mother who worked tirelessly for the well-being of her family and others around her.
Community members and relatives have called on Somali authorities and security agencies to ensure that the suspect is brought to justice, stressing the urgent need to address the rising cases of gender-based violence and domestic abuse across the country.
Prayers and condolences have poured in for Samsam, with many asking Allah to grant her mercy and a place in Jannatul Firdows, while giving patience and strength to her surviving children and family.
