Algiers – Somalia is participating in this year’s Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF), underscoring its commitment to strengthening trade links across the continent and expanding export opportunities for Somali products.

Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mahmoud Ahmed Adan Geesood, will represent Somalia at the annual event, which brings together business leaders, investors, and government officials from across Africa to showcase a wide range of goods and services.

Somalia plans to present traditional products, industrial goods, and other services aimed at promoting domestic trade and international exports. Minister Geesood’s participation also offers an opportunity to engage with global investors, encourage both inward and outward investment, and enhance Somalia’s commercial profile.

During the fair, Minister Geesood is expected to take part in panel discussions and bilateral meetings to explore trade opportunities with other African nations, focusing on strategic economic collaboration.

The Somali government emphasized that participation in such events is crucial for economic growth, job creation, and strengthening the country’s business reputation both locally and internationally.

The Intra-African Trade Fair serves annually as a key platform for African nations to network, share ideas, and secure mutually beneficial trade agreements. Somalia’s involvement this year is seen as a step toward achieving tangible results in boosting commerce and national economic development.
