Mogadishu: Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Salah Ahmed Jama, officially launched the 2024 Annual Financial Progress Report in a ceremony held today in Mogadishu.

During the launch, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that Somalia has made significant economic progress, highlighting achievements in public financial management, domestic revenue growth, and national infrastructure development.

Mr. Salah emphasized that implementing a transparent and accountable financial system plays a vital role in boosting government revenue. He also noted that the National Transformation Plan, implemented by the DanQaran government, should serve as the foundation for strengthening public financial administration.

The Somali government has proudly pointed to what it describes as a major economic transformation in the country. However, the public continues to express frustration over widespread poverty and high unemployment, issues that remain deeply felt during the tenure of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
