The Federal Government of Somalia has strongly condemned the missile attack launched by the Islamic Republic of Iran on a U.S. military base in Qatar, specifically targeting the Al Udeid Air Base.

In an official statement issued by Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government described the assault as a blatant act of aggression against a sovereign nation and warned that it poses a serious threat to civilian safety and regional stability.
“The Government of Somalia strongly condemns the aggressive act committed by the Islamic Republic of Iran against our brotherly nation, Qatar,” the statement said. It further emphasized the importance of upholding international law, particularly the protection of civilians and the preservation of regional peace and security.
Somalia reiterated its unwavering support for the Government of Qatar, expressing full solidarity with Qatar’s efforts to safeguard its security, stability, and the well-being of its dignified people.
“We call on all parties to exercise restraint, and we urge the international community to unite in supporting efforts toward peace and the protection of national sovereignty,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, Former Somali Presidents Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed also issued separate statements condemning Iran’s actions, describing them as unacceptable and detrimental to regional stability.
In his remarks, former President Farmaajo stated:
“I strongly condemn today’s unjustified attack by Iran on Qatar. Targeting the peaceful nation of Qatar with missile strikes is a violation of international law. It also risks escalating tensions in the region and across the world. Iran must cease these unlawful actions.”
