MADRID, (HAN) – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, facing mounting diplomatic pressure from Israel, has strongly condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza, declaring that Spain will not remain silent in the face of civilian massacres.

“Spain does not possess nuclear weapons, aircraft carriers, or massive fuel reserves,” Sánchez said on Thursday. “But that does not mean we will stay silent while children and women are being massacred. We will not remain quiet until the war in Gaza comes to an end.”

His remarks come as Spain continues to clash diplomatically with Israel over its military campaign in Gaza. Sánchez has been one of Europe’s most vocal critics of the war, repeatedly calling for an immediate ceasefire and greater protection for civilians.

Israel has previously accused the Spanish leader of bias and interference in its security affairs, a charge Madrid rejects. Despite limited military power compared to global heavyweights, Sánchez emphasized that Spain’s moral responsibility and commitment to human rights obliges it to speak out.

The Spanish prime minister’s statement adds to growing international criticism of Israel’s conduct in Gaza, where thousands of civilians have been killed since the latest escalation of violence began.
