Mogadishu — A new round of talks has opened today at the Halane base in Mogadishu between representatives of the C6+ international community delegation and Somalia’s National Salvation Forum.

The meeting follows two days of discussions between Somali opposition leaders and President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, which ended without a breakthrough on key agenda items.
According to sources, the National Salvation Forum is expected to present its concerns to the international partners, raising doubts about President Hassan Sheikh’s commitment to achieving a genuine agreement on the contested issues.
The forum believes the president’s approach is aimed at delaying the process and pursuing personal interests.
Meanwhile, international partners are intensifying their efforts to encourage Somali stakeholders to reach a broad consensus before the end of the president’s term.
