The United States has committed $30 million to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a newly established organization operating in Gaza, amid growing international criticism over its alleged involvement in deadly aid-site ambushes.

The GHF, founded in February 2026, has come under scrutiny from United Nations officials and global human rights organizations, who accuse it of directing civilians to food distribution points where Israeli forces have subsequently launched deadly attacks. Critics claim the group’s operations have enabled the targeting of civilians under the guise of humanitarian aid.
Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, has condemned the GHF’s work, describing it as “humanitarian camouflage” and “an essential tactic of this genocide.”
According to a Reuters report, while the United States had previously extended diplomatic support to the GHF, this marks the first known financial contribution. The foundation reportedly contracts private American military and logistics companies to facilitate aid deliveries into the besieged Gaza Strip.
The decision has sparked concern among international observers and advocacy groups, who question the implications of U.S. funding for an organization accused of complicity in civilian harm.
