ANKARA — Somalia’s ambassador to Türkiye, Fatxudiin Ali Mohamed, attended the graduation ceremony of the Turkish National Police Academy on Friday, an event also presided over by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, officials said.

The ceremony in Ankara marked the graduation of a new cohort of police officers, including Somali cadets who completed their training under Turkish security cooperation programmes.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the Somali envoy congratulated the graduating Somali officers, praising their discipline, commitment and what he described as their “exemplary representation” of Somalia during their training period in Türkiye.
He urged the graduates to apply their skills in service of their country, particularly in strengthening national security institutions, and wished them success in their future careers.
President Erdoğan, who attended the ceremony alongside senior Turkish officials, underscored Türkiye’s ongoing cooperation with partner countries in the field of security and law enforcement training.
Türkiye has in recent years expanded military and police training programmes for Somali personnel as part of broader security and development ties between the two countries.
