TEHRAN — Iran has warned that it will respond decisively to any military action by the United States or Israel, issuing one of its strongest statements since tensions escalated in the region.
Iranian officials said any attack would trigger a forceful response aimed at defending the country’s sovereignty and national security. The warning came shortly before President Donald Trump announced that he had suspended plans for a new U.S.-Israeli military strike in favor of continued negotiations.
Despite the apparent diplomatic opening, Iranian authorities said their armed forces remain on high alert and are fully prepared to respond to any threat, while insisting that pressure and military intimidation will not alter Tehran’s position.
